and Pinot Noir and <strong>10% Erbamat<\/strong>, <strong>Franciacorta Cuv\u00e9e 1564 Brut Nature Millesimato 2017<\/strong>\u00a0is the <strong>first and only<\/strong> Franciacorta with such<strong> a high percentage of this native grape variety<\/strong>.<\/p><p>On the occasion of the Franciacorta Festival, the Paladin Family <strong>exclusively presented this label to the market<\/strong>.<\/p><p>2017 is the first vintage in which Erbamat has been used in a Franciacorta Cuv\u00e9e, marking an important step towards the promotion of a grape variety with ancient origins that also performs well in the present.<\/p><p><strong>Castello Bonomi is one of the five wineries that fifteen years ago decided to support the Franciacorta Consortium<\/strong> in the greatest challenge undertaken by the territory: to recover and enhance this indigenous grape from Brescia.<\/p><p>The <strong>late ripening<\/strong> and <strong>high acidity<\/strong>, which had identified Erbamat as a difficult and challenging variety to use, are now proving to be ideal characteristics for this region.<\/p><p><strong>The constant increase in average temperature<\/strong> has led to the anticipation of the\u00a0 harvest by up to 10-20 days compared to the past, with the consequent risk of excessive loss of acidity.<\/p><p>Erbamat is very interesting because it <strong>maintains higher acidity<\/strong> and <strong>lower pH<\/strong>, fundamental parameters for <strong>high-quality sparkling wine bases<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The <strong>protection of Monte Orfano<\/strong> and the sunlight <strong>exposure emphasized by the &#8220;terraced&#8221; structure<\/strong> of the vineyards contribute to the health of the grapes and ensure significant ripening even in this late the Paladin Family and Castello Bonomi to the decision to make a <strong>significant investment in this project<\/strong>, positioning themselves among the <strong>pioneers of this new and important chapter in the history of Franciacorta<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>Initially experimented with at a percentage of 40%<\/strong>, they eventually developed what is now one of Castello Bonomi&#8217;s crown jewels, Franciacorta Cuv\u00e9e 1564 Brut Nature, containing 10% Erbamat,<strong> the maximum percentage currently allowed by regulations<\/strong>.<\/p><p>2017 stood out as a challenging vintage, marked by a late spring frost. However, <strong>the vine has an incredible adaptability <\/strong>and the Monte Orfano vineyard produced a harvest that, although reduced, offers a wine of high quality.<\/p><p><strong> The highly favorable conditions of the terroir<\/strong>, <strong>combined with meticulous work in the winery<\/strong>, ensure the creation of a <strong>perfect sparkling base for an exclusive Franciacorta<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The careful and staggered harvest, carried out<strong> strictly by hand<\/strong>, the ideal pressing and the fractioning process bring the grapes from the vineyard to aging on their own lees for<strong> 65 months<\/strong>, enhancing all their characteristics.<\/p><p>The glass of Franciacorta Cuv\u00e9e 1564 Brut Nature Millesimato 2017 is<strong> straw yellow<\/strong> with greenish reflections. On the nose, <strong>tropical fruit<\/strong> and <strong>citrus notes<\/strong> emerge. The sip is <strong>balanced<\/strong>, <strong>fine<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>persistent<\/strong>, with a pleasant and distinctive <strong>touch of acidity<\/strong>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><img
