Riserva Lucrezia Etichetta Nera 2004

The history of this Franciacorta starts a long time ago, when Mr. Marino Bonomi, founder and owner of Castello Bonomi, dedicates a special wine to his niece Lucrezia, special just as their bond. Thus, in 1999, the first Franciacorta Riserva of Castello Bonomi, the Cuvée Lucrezia, was born.

This Reserve represents the highest expression of the quality of Castello Bonomi and the terroir in which it was born; it is produced exclusively in great vintages and only from the oldest vineyards of Castello Bonomi, located on the terraces on the slopes of Monte Orfano at 275 meters above sea level.

Among these exceptional vintages, in which the maturity of the grapes reaches a perfect ripening to ensure longevity and perfect harmony, the 2004 vintage stands out for its complexity and ageing potential, and so, in 2010, the Paladin family together with Luigi Bersini, Chef de Cave of Castello Bonomi – the Franciacorta company of Casa Paladin – after the usual 60 months of ageing on the yeasts, decide to extend the refinement of a small batch of 250 bottles.

This special, extremely limited, selection has rested to this day, continuing its extraordinary evolution and, in 2024, Lucrezia Etichetta Nera celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the harvest with 220 months of aging on the yeasts.

Riserva Lucrezia Extra Brut Etichetta Nera is 100% Pinot Noir. «Pinot Noir is an extraordinary and complex grape variety that expresses all its authenticity in the glass. – Says the Paladin Family – With the Riserva Lucrezia Etichetta Nera 2004 we made a bet and so, today, twenty years after the harvest and after an ageing of 220 months, a unique, elegant and timeless Franciacorta is born».

This Franciacorta capable of defying time represents the most ambitious challenge of Casa Paladin and Castello Bonomi.

A bottle that contains all the elements that have made these wineries points of reference for Italian winemaking: respect for history and traditions, the foresight of the Paladin family and of the technical team of Castello Bonomi and the precious terroir from which it comes, represented by the slopes of Monte Orfano printed on the special commemorative label.
